The Design Genesis

Cyanean Residences proposes a symbiotic architectural typology on a hill at the prestigious ATHENIAN RIVIERA overlooking the aegean sea. The projects conceptual core is anchored in its  context: a modern reinterpretation of the mythical Cyanean Rocks (Symplegades).  In antiquity, the term "Cyanean" denoted the deep, dark blue of the ocean. Translating this dual myth into contemporary residential design, Bllend crafted a semi-detached volumetric composition. The buildings envelope features an ultra-matte, dark charcoal finish that acts as a structural canvas. This monochrome dark block intentionality dissolves into the landscape at dusk, allowing high-performance, high-reflectivity glass facades to capture, amplify, and reflect the changing blue tones of the Aegean sky and the property’s lush exotic meditteranean landscapes

 

Architecture & Urbanism (Spatial Integration)

  • Volumetric Duality: The semi-detached structure mirrors the dual nature of the mythical twin rocks. It functions as a single, powerful geometric monolith from the urban streetscape, yet unravels into two completely independent, private urban sanctuaries that maximize structural privacy

  • Microclimatic Orientation: Strategically positioned on the peninsula's topography, the building is sculpted to optimize natural cross-ventilation and solar paths. The cantilevered elements provide essential shading while framing uncompromised panoramic views of the sea, the marina, and the surrounding landscapes

 

Materiality & Sustainability (Technical Excellence)

  • The Chromatic Envelope: The ultra-matte charcoal facade utilizes innovative, low-thermal-absorption materials to mitigate the urban heat island effect, maintaining a sophisticated luxury aesthetic while ensuring high energy efficiency

  • Smart Glass Technology: The reflective glazed surfaces are engineered with high-efficiency coatings that reject solar heat gain while ensuring maximum daylight penetration. The shifting exterior reflection transforms the building into a dynamic, fluid mirror of its natural environment, eliminating visual bulkiness
